A Reminder From Mr. Joe Thomas:
Parents of 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders, our canoe trips on the nearby Little Miami River are coming up!
*The 7th and 8th grade will go on Friday, September 8th.
*The 4th, 5th, and 6th grade will go on Friday, September 15th.
Parents are welcome to join, but they must fill out a waiver and pay $35 before the day of the trip. Arrival and dismissal will be just like any other day, and we will carpool to Scenic River Canoe at 9:15.

CWS Weekly Spotlight: CWHS Senior Canoe Trip!
The Cincinnati Waldorf High School seniors paired up with the Little Miami Conservancy in their efforts to learn about and help maintain the Little Miami mussel population. Students participated in Citizen Science by taking inventory of mussel shells and collecting DNA samples from the Little Miami River. This coincided with their Zoology main lesson block. The seniors will be traveling to Maine on September 10th to study marine biology with other Waldorf high school seniors from across the country.

Apple Picking & Sunflowers at McGlasson Farm: 9/9
Nothing says fall like apple picking on a beautiful blue-sky day! Lean into living seasonally and enjoying fun family time outside when you join us for apple picking - and sunflowers - at McGlasson Farm on Saturday, September 9th from 3-5pm. This idyllic family farm in Kentucky features a host of apple varieties, a gorgeous sunflower field, and lots of yummy farm stand treats! Please note McGlasson Farm only accepts cash or check. Apple picking is $30/bag.
There is no formal structure for this event, so come when you can, stay as long as you want, and look out for CWS friends in the orchards and among the sunflowers! 🌻

Plan to attend this year's Michaelmas celebration on Friday, September 29th! Michaelmas is an important festival in Waldorf schools and is a beloved tradition for students and families alike at CWS. The celebration includes a play, the singing of songs, volunteer activities, and a community feast featuring dragon bread! Stay tuned for more information about this event!

Rob Keenan (husband of CWS assistant teacher Miss Katie) is a guitarist and singer/songwriter with many years of experience, including national touring with his band Dawg Yawp. His music has been featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, and he has been an award-winning local musician for nearly a decade.
Rob is a fun, creative, and generous teacher and is now offering lessons for beginning, intermediate, and some advanced students. A lover of all things music, he offers everything from coaching in singing, to songwriting guidance and beginning piano. Mostly a guitar focused teacher, he can also share basics in recording technique and creativity in general. Pricing: $30/half-hr. $60/hr.
