Weekly Highlights

Thank you Grandfriends! We had a wonderful time sharing with you, and we hope you enjoyed your visit!

The 9th & 11th Grades had a great time at the Cincinnati Art Museum this past week. The 9th Grade visited to augment their study in "History through Art II."

Yellow Bus transportation for this field trip was made possible by an investment of public funds from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically.

Bravo to Mr. Bustillo and the 4th Grade for a stellar performance of "Balder: Light of the Gods"! If you missed the play, you can watch the performance on CWS's YouTube Channel.

CWS Announcements

We have made some bathroom changes in our school building in order to be in compliance with Ohio Senate Bill 104 that was signed into law and takes effect on February 25th, 2025. Per this law, schools in Ohio are mandated to designate multi-occupancy bathrooms to a specific and exclusive gender.

As of this Friday, February 14th, 2025, bathrooms at CWS will have the following signage and are to be used in the following ways:

  • Multi-occupancy bathrooms will be labeled either Boys or Girls.

  • Single-occupancy bathrooms will be labeled as Family bathrooms. At our school this means that anyone and everyone is welcome to use a Family bathroom.

Give to CWS for FREE. Really!

If you haven't filed your 2024 taxes, you can still make a gift to the CWS Scholarship Fund at absolutely no cost to you!!

Depending on the amount of Ohio tax you owe for 2024, you can give up to $750 as an individual or $1,500 for married couples filing jointly and receive either a CREDIT or a REFUND on your 2024 taxes! This applies to anyone making over $26,000/year!

This is a HUGE opportunity for our school, and one we hope you will consider as you work on your taxes this year!

You can find more information on our website here and also at www.everychildeveryfamily.org. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! Email Beth Norton at bnorton@cinciwaldorf.org or Beth McDaniel at bmcdaniel@cinciwaldorf.org. We're happy to answer any questions you have!

Need a night out? Have one on us!

CWS is excited to offer a Parents Night Out on Saturday, March 8th from 5:30-8pm at the Cincinnati Waldorf School.

Students will enjoy free play and activities with friends under the supervision of CWS faculty members while you get some time to yourself! Feel free to go out to dinner, get some fresh air, or enjoy some self-care, knowing your children are safe and well-cared for at school.

Due to current staffing, this event is limited to the first 48 children signed up. But before you RSVP, please note the following details:

  • This event is only open to currently enrolled students (Preschool-Grade 12).

  • Parents must RSVP and fill out a waiver in advance off dropping of their child/ren.

  • Parents must also sign their child/ren in and out and provide a cell phone number where they can be reached in case of an emergency.

  • Parents are asked to pack food for their child/ren’s dinner.

  • Parents are strongly encouraged but not required to tip staff (cash is easiest).

If you have any questions, please contact bmcdaniel@cinciwaldorf.org.

New Game Club for Grades 5-8 Every Wednesday

Track & Field Opportunities with St. Gertrude School

For the last several years, our school has been invited to participate with St Gertrude School on a combined Track and Field Team. They do everything from sprints to long runs, discuss and shot put.  The practices are usually at Moeller High School.  There are 3 or 4 meets during the season, but they are completely optional.

My daughter competed on the team for a couple years and enjoyed it.  We participated in 2 meets.

Students from Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to participate.  It is a great opportunity to give your child a feel for Track and Field.

Registration for the 2025 season is now open! CLICK HERE to register.

The deadline is March 2nd.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions - 513-265-5100.

Thanks,

Joe Thomas
