Dexter brings a wide array of skills and capacities to his new role and is already hard at work getting our facilities ship-shape for the upcoming school year!

If you see Dexter around school (or around Mariemont), be sure to say hello and give him a warm CWS welcome!

After living in the neighborhood and walking his dog past the Cincinnati Waldorf School for years, Dexter is excited to have the opportunity to join our faculty as Facilities Manager.

“I’ve always been curious about the school and love the holistic approach to child development. I’m excited to be part of the CWS team and to join such a kind, welcoming community.”

Dexter grew up in Florida and received a Bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Alabama and a Doctoral degree in Ministry at Mercer University in Georgia. He spent 20 years in church work where he gained extensive experience working with people, managing volunteers, and maintaining old buildings.

Today he’s excited to put those skills to work caring for our school facilities and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for students, staff, and community members. Dexter says, “I really enjoy being hands on and taking care of things.”

Dexter has four children ages 20, 15, 13, and 10. His wife is a physician at Mercy Anderson where she specializes in infectious diseases.

In his free time, Dexter has enjoyed being active in the community and volunteering for local nonprofits such as La Soupe and New Leaf Kitchen. He also attends lots of sporting events to watch his kids and has a personal and, previously, professional interest in brewing beer. Five years ago, he was instrumental in the build-out of Woodburn Brewing.

In true Waldorf style, Dexter brings a wide array of skills and capacities to his role - and a deep passion for serving the needs of people, and the larger community. We are deeply excited to welcome him to CWS and are grateful for the gifts he brings to our school!
