Enrolling at CWSApplication process:- We encourage parents interested in the Cincinnati Waldorf School to contact our Enrollment Director. There are many opportunities to learn about the school and its programs, including the Observation Mornings (held on the third Tuesday of each month from 9:00 - 11:00 am), Open Houses, and Parent Education events.
- Parents submit an Application for Admission, along with an application fee ($25.00 for Nursery and Kindergarten, $50.00 for gradeschool) and a photograph of the child.
- Parents are required to submit previous school records (including any information on development and medical history) prior to an interview.
- An interview takes place between the parents and teacher. Another teacher may observe the Nursery/Kindergarten child for a developmental assessment. The grade school child will take part in an academic and developmental assessment by a qualified teacher.
- A class visit is scheduled for the child if the interview takes place during the school year.
- Admissions decisions will be provided to parent(s) by letter.
- Confirmation of admission takes place when these required forms are completed and submitted with the tuition deposit: (1) Tuition Contract, (2) Certificate of Medical Examination, (3) Emergency Transportation Form, and (4) Parent Survey.
Parents may feel free to visit the school during operating hours. Visitors must check in with the Office Manager. Students are admitted on a probationary basis of six weeks. Teachers may call upon parents for conferences, by telephone or in person, to discuss the child's progress periodically during this time. At any time during the probationary period, the admission of the student is subject for review. Each child is a unique individual, bringing definite gifts and challenges to the school. The faculty seeks to meet the child at his or her stage of growth and development. The school will determine in the assessment of each incoming child whether the school is staffed and qualified to teach the physically, mentally, or emotionally handicapped child and the child with severe disciplinary difficulties.
